Join our AWARD-WINNING TEAM! Part time 8-16 hour position available evenings and weekends. Evening shifts are typically 3:00-7:00 p.m. and weekends are 10:00-2:00 p.m., 3:00-7:00 p.m. or 10:00-7:00 p.m.

John H Whitaker Place is seeking a part time member of the dining service team who provides dining services to the residents, guests, and staff of John H. Whitaker Place. Requires maintaining all dining room policies and procedures in the handling and delivery of food in a gracious and efficient manner. FREE MEAL when you work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists Dining Service Director/Chef in the implementation of daily dining services and events of the residence in an appropriate manner
  • Follows all policies in preparing and setting dining room for all meals. Follows all policies and procedures in preparing, setting up and cleaning all areas of the dining room and kitchen
  • Report all potential problems and implements all policies of JHWP in the dining room, i.e., removing food for dining room, etc. to the Dining Services Director/Chef
  • Report all potential situations and problems that occur in the dining room to the Dining Service Director/Chef. Complete all appropriate records of incidence that may occur in the dining room
  • Maintains the dining room according to procedure and assists in the maintenance of equipment including linen, flowers, setting of tables and all other tasks
  • Reports attendance of residents at all meals to Dining Service Director/Chef. Reports any changes in resident or unusual circumstances in dining room to the Dining Services Director/Chef.
  • Follows all procedures for proper food handling, personal safety, health and cleanliness and reports to Dining Service Director/Chef any incident or occurrence that may interfere with the health of the employee and/or endangers the resident’s health and safety
  • Assists the resident as needed or alerts appropriate staff member to assist resident. And all other responsibilities as assigned by the Dining Service Director/Chef
