Cook Position Summary:
Candidates must be able to read and follow recipes and prepare and meals.
Essential Job Functions for Dietary Cook:
- Prepares all main dishes and accompaniments for all three meals that is palatable, attractive, and at the proper temperature per state guidelines.
- Stores, handles and prepares food in accordance with Federal, State, and Local guidelines.
- Measures and weights proportions as indicated by menu.
- Operates all kitchen equipment.
- Maintains Infection Control principles during food preparation, storage and delivery.
Additional Duties:
Assists in performing cleaning and sanitation. Assists in Supervisory duties as needed. Observes trays to maintain therapeutic diet accommodations. Assist in monitoring inventory, placing orders and other departmental needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1-2 years prior experience in food service; prior experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility.
Safe-serve certification is a plus
