The Franciscan Sisters of the Poor are seeking a Dietary Manager for St. Clare Convent. The Convent, located at 60 Compton Road, is home to a small group of retired sisters.

This position is responsible for the coordination and oversight of Dining Services, supervision of staff and completion of related administrative duties. The Manager must foster an atmosphere of teamwork and respect and maintain a quality work environment with positive morale.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 5+ years experience with volume cooking and kitchen/staff management
• ServSafe Certification
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and email
• Excellent organizational and team management skills

Responsibilities:

• Establishes standards and work procedures for staff. Plans work to ensure effective and efficient rendering of services. Monitors quality of work within assigned areas.
• Creates work schedules and ensures proper levels of staffing. Works as needed in the department positions (Cook, Dining Assistant) to assist with task completion.
• Maintains health, safety and sanitation by establishing/implementing food safety, infection control and operational policies and procedures, training/monitoring staff and detecting/ensuring disposal of spoiled foods and defective supplies and equipment.
• Participates in the creation of menus to keep a high standard defined by variety, quality and quantity of food. Ensures that a large variety and quantity of foods are provided within a set timetable and that special needs are accommodated as required.
• Monitors inventories and orders/purchases food and supplies. Checks deliveries and ensures proper rotation of stock.
• Manages budget.
• Participates in employee selection, training and evaluation.
• Fosters and implements the mission, values, policies and procedures of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor.
