Overview
Leads the NA Aftermarket Product Engineering team. Responsible for the execution of new product development and launches that support the Business units’ objectives. Develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among the cross-functional Aftermarket teams. Instill a sense of accountability among team members by providing tight oversight of programs, projects, and business deliverables. This position will provide technical support to CVA for non-genuine OE product, including All-fit and remanufactured product. Oversight of design, development, validation testing and release of aftermarket and remanufactured products by coordinating activities with various parties including the Bangalore (India) Technical Center, Europe Engineer/Product Management and OEM engineering; establishing performance standards and product approval criteria for aftermarket and remanufactured products; supporting aftermarket operations, customers, and business functions. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and driving procurement activities for the aftermarket product group.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the effectiveness and results of the programs and plan adjustments to achieve targets
  • Leading and managing the implementation team, all project management, managing/interacting across all functions
  • Assigns resources to Change Management activities when appropriate. Lead PCCR review and development & implement GP3 migration.
  • Launch of new programs / products - Project timing, project and expense launch cost, and meeting final component / product manufacturing cost targets.
  • Project management standards development and adherence to standards / policies.
  • Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of internal and/or customer programs and projects.
  • Plans and formulates internal or customer project plans and timing and organizes project management activities according to project requirements. Interface directly with internal engineering and Central Purchasing.
  • Oversee engineering analysis necessary for the design, development, validation testing, and release of aftermarket products – all makes, price point, and reman, using various engineering tools including CAE tools such as Pro/Engineer, Pro/Mechanica, and Windchill.
  • Lead New Product Development Reverse Engineering team based in India to drive significant new products through the Aftermarket organization.
  • Manage all aspects of engineering projects according to customer requirements with focus on interfacing across business and engineering groups (procurement, product line management, marketing, sales, quality, Bangalore (India) Technical Center, and OE engineering)
  • Review any non-conforming material that may be used under deviation. "Suitability for use" based on solid aftermarket requirements and sound technical and business judgment.
  • Continue to improve the CVA approval process for non-genuine products to provide the maximum impact to the business while recognizing technical and quality requirements.
  • Identify, verify and implement solutions to warranty or quality problems that affect product performance.
  • Support external aftermarket customers - OEM, Dealer, Independent Distributor, Fleets
  • Establish good working relationships with team members, outside suppliers, customers and various internal groups
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for product development team.

Job Requirements:


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering required. Master of Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience required
  • Aftermarket / product development experience preferred
  • 5 years of full time direct, practical experience with undercarriage and/or commercial vehicle drivetrain or brake products preferred
  • Design experience with structural components (forgings, castings, weldments)
  • Experience in procurement and international activities is desired
  • Exposure to project management and automotive quality systems is desired.
  • Aftermarket experience and a knowledge of Aftermarket core products is desired
  • Well versed with all MS Windows software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project)
  • Solid understanding of project management of large projects
  • Ability to Travel Internationally (India/Europe)
  • The Aftermarket organization has the right to deem a person qualified for a position if that person has had one or more years’ experience in the position or similar position.
