This service also focuses on implementing behavioral support plans in place for the individual to increase functional skills, address behavioral excesses, and teach necessary replacement behaviors.

As a Direct Care Staff with Pyles and Associates, you will be trained to provide direct specialized behavior respite/personal assistance services to children and adults with developmental disabilities.
**Part-time schedules available, with the potential for full-time, depending on the availability of the applicant and needs of our clients. We are hiring for all shifts (day, evening, overnight, and weekends)**

Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide specialized behavior respite/personal assistance services under the support and supervision of the Clinical Director and Case Manager
- Build and maintain rapport with clients and their families to promote ongoing learning and an effective professional relationship
- Provide direct care to residents to increase daily living skills, cognitive development, socialization, and behavior management
- Communicate ongoing care progress and updates to supervisors
- Follows the client behavior support plan
- Implement behavior strategies outlined in client’s behavior support plan
- Follow client’s individualized program plan (IPP) as outlined
- Collect data according to individual’s behavior plan and skill programs
- Maintaining session notes
- Communicate and collaborate with other non-agency team members in a professional manner
- Assist clients in their day-to-day activities (e.g., dressing, bathing, toileting, etc.) - Performs other duties as assigned reasonably within the scope of a Direct Care Staff Note: This position is NOT allowed to provide medical care (e.g., pulse checks, giving medication, etc.) or perform any housekeeping duties, unless directly assisting the client in completing the task.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent OR - Possess an associate degree in either a human, social, or educational services discipline, or a degree or certification related to behavior management, from an accredited community college or educational institution
- Minimum 6 months experience working with persons with development disabilities
- Must legally be authorized to work in the United States
- Possess a California driver’s license and have proof of automobile insurance
- Must provide verification of negative TB test and criminal background check
- Ability to engage client in age-appropriate activities
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Caring and compassionate qualities
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- CPR/First Aid preferred or If not certified, we would need them to be certified following hire (prior to providing services)
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is a plus or If not certified, must train for, and receive certification within 6 months of hire
- Bilingual skills are a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
