The Opportunity:
The Career Services team at our Daytona Beach Campus is currently recruiting for an Associate Director to assist the Director of Operations, and Executive Director, in carrying out the strategic initiatives and operations of Career Services for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Daytona Beach campus. The Associate Director will work with and advise students in various degree areas on career activities, including advising students and early alumni on their career planning and development, full-time and co-op/internship search and professional development activities. They will develop, track and strengthen relationships with employers that recruit students and alumni for career opportunities in the degrees they manage.
In addition, the Associate Director will develop and manage student programming from the Daytona Beach Career Services Office and ensure a variety of programs are available to assist students with career development activities and increasing successful career opportunities. They will oversee the job shadow program, facilitate the program, and add participating companies based on student degree areas. They will be expected to follow University brand standards and utilize social media to increase overall attendance and participation in all programming.
The Associate Director is responsible for training and managing three Program Managers (Career Advisors) and will provide the team training to develop skills to advise and assist students with career preparation, knowledge and skills as well as provide them with professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Advise students in assigned majors on job search strategies, providing guidance to increase successful outcomes of internships and full-time positions.
- Oversee Program Managers, providing appropriate training and development to ensure quality advising of students on career-related activities and preparation.
- Develop and mange programming from the Career Services Office to students.
- Develop relationships with companies that recruit students from assigned degree areas. Increase opportunities for internship experiences and full-time recruiting.
- Oversee the Job Shadow Program, recruiting companies to participate, advertising the JSP to students, matching students to company participants and facilitating the experience.
- Assist with office operations as needed, as well as University and Career Services events.
Qualifications
- Master's degree required
- 5+ years experience in Career Services in a higher education environment.
- Previous leadership/management of professional personnel desired.
- Strong organizational and technical skills are required.
- Position requires professional dress, mannerisms, and behavior in all situations.
- Good interpersonal and excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse team of professionals.
- Knowledge of social media and aviation/aerospace is preferred.
