Job Description
Resources manager for the College. Maintains overall financial history for College, is responsible for the annual budget preparation, supervises all commonwealth budget activities for 7 departments, 1 Research Center, numerous Educational Foundation accounts and the Dean’s Offices commonwealth, gift and Research Foundation accounts totaling $43 million per year.

Demonstrated knowledge of standard accounting/bookkeeping/business practices and procedures. Ability to use Microsoft 365 productivity tools such as the Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, and electronic mail programs. Ability to research and compile statistical reports. Ability to enter and manipulate data and produce reports. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, make independent decisions and manage complex projects independently and within deadlines. Working knowledge of effective oral and written communication techniques. Working knowledge of effective customer service and problem-resolution techniques when serving diverse customers. Ability to train departmental staff in established policies and procedures. Strong organizational skills. Ability to perform and supervise a large volume of varied management tasks, compile data and produce reports.

Level and type of experience
Considerable experience as a financial manager with experience maintaining complex financial records using multiple financial software platforms. Considerable experience in expense management and procurement. Considerable experience in using data management systems such as spreadsheets and bookkeeping or financial software, enterprise software and relational databases. Some supervisory experience.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Some experience with Enterprise financial systems (eVA, SWAM, Leo Online etc.). Completed ODU’s Office of Finance Certificate Training. Some university experience. Working knowledge of Banner finance and student systems. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, accounting, or finance.

Conditions of Employment
This is an open until filled recruitment. This recruitment may close after the five-day required posting period when a suitable pool of applicants has been generated.

Eligible for one telework day per week with the approval of supervisor.

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
Salary commensurate with education and experience
