Opened in June 2021, the hotel has been one of the most expected new destination in Tacoma, with 194 rooms and suites on the waterfront, 15,000 square feet of meeting space, a vibrant restaurant and bar and a rejuvenating day spa (opening in November 2022).

An integral part of the leadership management team, the Director of Culinary and Beverage is responsible for the overall operation of our Food and Beverage department. This is an exciting and progressive role that combines overseeing both the service and culinary experiences, with the adequate creative and management support across the Food and Beverage teams, including but not limited to, a best in the community acclaimed restaurant and best in class meeting facilities. This role requires a professional background that spans across the culinary and food service disciplines. A hospitality or culinary degree will be of great support to applicants.
The F&B experiences are an integral part of the hotel positioning in the local community and beyond, with a continuous need for innovation/implementation of culinary and service experiences. The culinary, service and beverage teams have thus far delivered defining experiences with the restaurant being a focal point of the hotel for the local community to gravitate towards, attracted by always-delicious food and drinks. The banquets space is also innovative and is positioned as the leading provider in the Tacoma area for both social catering and corporate groups.
The hotel is positioned as a four star accommodation, with all the amenities supporting that statement (e.g.: Spa) ; impeccable service delivery and excitement – a “buzz” – about the destination are paramount to its success.

People and Team Building
- Participates in building an engaged team morale as part of the leadership team.
- Maintains a positive attitude and performs according to company standards.
- Effectively manages a diverse team including but not limited to recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing performance of front of the house F&B managers, chefs, culinarians and service staff.
- Is self-motivated, able to think and work independently as well as with others, with an emphasis on collaboration and team building.
- Works closely with other departments to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Is a strong ambassador and representative of the hotel.
Problem Solver and Communicator
- Effectively communicates with the management about new ideas, problems, capital expense needs, and any other issues that affect the overall operation.
- Is able to provide open and effective lines of communication and address issues or concerns in a prompt and efficient manner. Establishes adequate reporting tools to communicate people, product, profit and service initiatives to the leadership and management team.
- Manages guest issues resolution in a prompt and friendly manner, including internal guests.
Planning ahead, Working Creatively!
- Responsible for the overall planning and execution of the food and beverage experiences at the hotel.
- Ensures that all staff performs to expectations to deliver those F&B experiences. Is a motivator and coach.
- Ensures that F&B experiences remain delivered in line with agreed upon concepts and strategic goals
- Strongly influences service deliveries, commensurate with a four-star hotel environment.
- Strongly influences the culinary experiences in support of the hotel being a community leader.
- Collaborate with the sales department in relation to meeting space activities and private dining.
- Ensures the safety and cleanliness of our work environment. Ensures that all health and sanitation guidelines are adhered to. Oversees relationship with third party suppliers.
- Ensures preventive maintenance and repair of all culinary equipment. Ensures that everything is in proper working order.
- Influences meeting budgetary targets.
- Coordinates special projects without hindering daily routine.
- Ensures all purchasing related activities and programs are set-up with the utmost ethical guidelines.

- English proficiency: expected ability to read, write and speak English fluently to be able to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, legal documents, etc...
- You have worked in both “front” and “back” of the house.
- Hospitality or Culinary degree preferred, and 5+ years related experience and/or training ; or relevant combination of education and experience encompassing managing a culinary team in hotels preferred.
Compensation: based on experience.
