Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of Lab & Radiology oversees all aspects of the lab/x-ray function for the Urgent Care Service Line. In this role, the Director partners with UC quality and operational infrastructure to ensure all urgent care clinics have lab and x-ray capabilities that achieve service line standards for quality and accreditation while maintaining compliance with state and or national regulatory standards. The Director of Lab & Radiology serves as a resource to the urgent care clinics regarding lab/x-ray recruitment strategies, testing processes, methodologies, and best practices.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Knowledgeable of regulatory environment by state to understand education and licensure requirements for x-ray capabilities
• Ongoing knowledge and awareness of regulatory changes in x-ray, laboratory & DOT D/S & BAT
• Supports the development and execution of internal education programs including pathways to x[1]ray certification within the state specific regulatory environments
• In partnership with market and operational leadership, manages externship programs to ensure candidate pipeline, partner execution and post program requirements are accomplished
• Advises on selection of efficient and cost-effective imaging and testing technology that aligns with service line offerings and strategy
• Supports vendor management for vendors supporting lab/x-ray function to ensure standardization across service line
• Oversees programs/infrastructure to ensures CLIA certifications are current and supports operational teams on revising CLIA amendments, if applicable
• In partnership with operations, ensures x-ray compliance and/or inspection documents (radiation operating & safety procedures) are updated, catalogued and current

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology

EXPERIENCE:

• Have a minimum of five years of laboratory and radiology training or experience
• Laboratory technical consultant or similar experience
• Supervisory experience preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

• Certified DOT Trainer for drug screen & BAT, preferred

• Current licensure as a Registered Radiology Technologist
