ROLE:

The Director of Operations (DOO) is responsible for managing and coordinating all operational activities of the Area Operations Managers, Radiology Tech in respective work area. The primary purpose of this position is to continuously coach and lead their team and ensure we provide a consistent and disciplined level of execution in servicing our customers, adhere to all compliance and safety guidelines and protect and secure all company assets.

This position is responsible for developing a performance based working relationship with our customers, sales team, call center and all supporting functions in the company. The DOO is responsible for managing all operating expenses in their respective work areas. This includes working directly with the Area Operations Managers and techs in monitoring and managing tech & phlebotomy productivity, adjusting the staffing to match the activity level and optimizing the personnel utilization by adjusting work schedules in the most cost-effective way possible. From time to time the DOO may be assigned operation projects that will directly impact current or future operations within the region. The DOO must have a strong working relationship with the sales personnel in their area and when required, must be able to meet with customers and represent the organization.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coach and lead the managers and techs under their responsibility
  • Responsible for monitoring and changing any policies to assure compliance to the State Regulations and Laws.
  • Responsible for following all applicable Radiation and Health Department rules as set forth for any State they have Employees working in.
  • Ensure requisitions, logs and all other pertinent documents are collected, secured and sent to the designated location on a daily basis
  • Develop a positive work environment by recognizing the positive contributions of the employees and by sharing information in an open and timely manner.
  • Manage assigned projects within specific service lines.
  • Continuously monitor the productivity of the Phlebotomy, XRAY and Sonographer techs and ensure the level of activity (patient count, draws and exams) justify the headcount being used to service the customers and market. It will be the DOO’s responsibility to adjust the staffing levels, start times and work hours to ensure we provide a consistent level of service in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Monitor the utilization of all company assets (XRAY, Ultrasound, Fleet, etc.) and when needed. Coordinate the redeployment to areas where they can be optimized without affecting the level of service to the customer.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the other functions within their area to ensure the level of service to the customer is consistent.
  • Ensure compliance and safety procedures are adhered to and all employees are held accountable for their actions.
  • Ensure the company performance planning process is properly executed. This includes the preparation of performance reviews for all Area Operations Managers and any other employees under their responsibility.

SKILLS|EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills
  • Strong people development skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • General financial acumen is required. Candidate must be familiar with profit and loss statements as well as other financial metrics used in measuring the health of the business.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidate must be a self-started, with strong time management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads.

OTHER:

  • Other duties as assigned by superior and senior management.
  • Knowledge of area geography and travel routes.
  • Must be organized, communicate effectively and work in stressful situations.
  • Must maintain confidentiality with company information and understand what situations are applicable to share company information.
  • Must be able to create, review and analyze spreadsheets, and PowerPoint documents.

Job Type: Full-time
