Director of Political Accounts - Miami, FL Job at Harris Media LLC
The Director of Political Accounts oversees important company accounts, designated account staff, and leads a key account with creativity, precision, and client satisfaction. This is primarily an external facing role.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Communicating with clients to push new business (i.e. videos, websites, etc)
- Serving as an elevated point-of-contact for clients to arise issues with, including after normal work hours and for rapid response
- Manage a holistic client budget and adapt for pacing changes week to week and month to month
- Attend department meetings punctually to update on clients, projects, and help push forward the company into new areas
- Participate in interdisciplinary labs within the company to expand creativity.
- Ensure that each client is up to the standard of Harris Media and the client’s own standard
- Being directly responsible for the completion of larger, top-tier projects in a timely fashion
- Setting the specific goals of each client as they fit within the overall company strategic direction and working on an ongoing basis to make sure they are met
- Be a thought leader within the company and the industry and participating in content creation to help the company (blogs, live streams, videos, etc)
- Participating in professional growth through recommended opportunities and as a representative of the company
- Managing an Account Team:
- Recommending personnel changes, including any need for growth
- Onboarding new hires to the each client and others in the team
- Managing hours, time off, illnesses, and attendance–ensuring that those underneath you are working proper hours
- Ensuring compliance of company policies
- Recommending bonuses and promotions
- Working with your Senior Account Executive to increase the level of knowledge in your account team through team wide and individual learnings opportunities (including making sure each member of your team is properly certified)
- Recommending infrastructure changes, including equipment purchases, training programs, etc
- Personal, professional, and within the company growth of those underneath you
- And other duties as deemed necessary
Our ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
- At least two years of professional experience in political campaigns, advocacy, marketing or online advertising
- Experience managing and maintaining a budget
- Have client facing experience in both fulfilling their needs and consulting based on expertise
- Proven strategic thinking skills and a passion for making great work
- Excellent writing skills for both pithy social content and long-form online fundraising emails
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Experience pushing multiple tasks forward in different sectors and for different clients
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the changing digital landscape, in both a go-getter and workshop learner fashion
- Familiar in both audiences, technical limitations, and content types for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience
If you exceed our expectations, you’ll have some of these qualities:
- Experience in Republican or conservative political campaigns, advocacy, think tanks, etc.
- Previous online advertising strategy or buying experience
- Graphic design experience
This is a full-time position based out of Miami, FL and salary will be dependent on experience. The company currently operates on a hybrid schedule of M-T in the office and Friday work from home. The company also offers quality health, dental, and vision insurance options.
