The Director of Talent Acquisition is a key member of the Woodruff Sawyer People team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you'll lead a phenomenal Talent Acquisition team and act as a strategic hiring partner for leaders and managers across the business. You'll implement a strong employer brand, deliver proactive recruiting solutions, build innovative programs for diversity recruitment, and inspire the team to deliver the strategic changes necessary to help us achieve success at scale. What You'll Do:

  • Develop and drive a comprehensive recruitment strategy with a focus on proactive candidate sourcing, employer brand, DEI recruiting, and talent analytics - resulting in attracting a diverse pool of qualified candidates in a steady-growth environment
  • Optimize and maintain existing processes, tools, systems, and resources needed to scale and support the recruiting team in the short and long-term
  • Lead, develop, motivate, and retain a successful talent acquisition team (currently 6 permanent and 2 temporary/part-time employees) based on their individual needs and development paths
  • Ensure a candidate journey that creates an excellent candidate experience for all, regardless of hiring outcome
  • Support team in developing a solid pipeline of candidates. Develop a formal process for candidate nurture campaigns
  • Support team in hosting and participate in creative recruitment events to drive awareness of our company and employer brand
  • Build strong, credible relationships with senior leaders and hiring managers as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert
  • Support with workforce planning and long-term people and business strategies
  • Partner with Learning & Development to design and implement training programs for all employees involved in hiring process, to include legal considerations, best practices, etc.
  • Provide expert strategy and guidance to our leaders and hiring managers to attract, select, onboard, and retain highly skilled, diverse candidates
  • Partner cross-functionally to help evolve our workplace culture, employer brand identity, and build upon our DEI initiatives
  • Be a champion for DEI recruiting, ensuring that best practices are intertwined with day-to-day workflows and processes
  • Create metrics and utilize data to evaluate success, tell compelling stories, and facilitate business decisions
  • Hands-on recruitment of senior roles and/or challenging open positions, as needed

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of talent acquisition experience (insurance and/or risk management experience a plus, but not required)
  • 5+ years management experience building and leading highly effective talent acquisition functions in growth environments. Especially experience managing senior recruiters and remote teams
  • Experience with ATS (Greenhouse a plus) and CRM systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint)
  • Track record and reputation for successfully partnering with C-level executives, VPs, directors, and managers to make great hires and build great teams
  • Adaptable and superior communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) at all levels (IC to Executive)
  • Familiarity with employment immigration law (visa sponsorship, streamlining relocation guidelines and programs) is a plus
