We are seeking a proven, forward-thinking, and highly motivated Director of Product Development Engineering to lead the ServiceNow DevOps team to optimize and enhance MetLife’s ServiceNow platforms ensuring that our core platforms are efficiently managed to support continuous improvement in an agile environment. This role provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of the ServiceNow platform and will partner closely with the vendor and our internal stakeholders to align on the vision and roadmap for the platform and management of ServiceNow. The ServiceNow platform supports MetLife’s Service Management solution including Incident Management, Request Management, Change Management, Release Management, Configuration Management, and Vendor Risk Management. Over 9,000 MetLife employees globally use ServiceNow to manage over 2.8 million tickets annually.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive the strategic direction of ServiceNow platform to align with technology strategy, product roadmaps, and platform governance.- Engage regularly with key internal stakeholders and ServiceNow Reps to stay abreast of new capabilities
- Provide technical leadership, overall delivery direction and professional development to a team of engineers
- Responsible for platform product ownership including setting, prioritizing, and accepting work for multiple the Agile teams and managing interdependences, risks, conflicts, and impediments
- Ensures that the application environment and integrations are stable and secure while maintaining product currency
- Maintains and executes against product roadmaps ensuring continual improvement of capabilities and effective use of new vendor features to maximize the value of the platform for stakeholders
- Identifies areas of opportunity for automation and workflow management; markets tools internally to business partners where operational opportunities are identified
- Responsible for over $4M budget including all the monthly and yearly financials, as well as future planning and estimations
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Minimum of 5+ years of ServiceNow experience in large, complex environments.
- Minimum of 10+ total years of experience and at least 5 years of management experience.
- Demonstrates knowledge of IT Service Management processes
- Deep understanding of the ServiceNow Platform and ability to consult with key stakeholders on the use of ServiceNow to address business needs.
- Ability to partner with stakeholders at various levels of the organization to establish consensus and deliver outcomes
Preferred:
- ITIL v3/v4 certification or working experience in IT Services or engineering
- Strong interpersonal skills, customer centric attitude, inclusive leadership
- Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons, and risks) around the key technical decisions during project delivery
- Knowledge and experience in continuous delivery methodologies like continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous automated testing.
