Director - Sales Compensation – Paid Relocation to Cincinnati, OH Job at Total Quality Logistics (TQL)
About the role:
As the Director of Compensation for TQL, you will be responsible for building and leading the company’s compensation programs. Reporting directly to the CHRO, you will help advise the executive leadership team on all short and long-term compensation matters. You will be leading a small, but experienced team responsible for managing company-wide compensation strategies, communications, operations, and continuous improvements to position and keep TQL competitive within our industry and nationwide locations.

What you’ll be doing:
- Designing, building, and managing the company’s compensation programs
- Advising the Executive Team to ensure our compensation strategy is cost effective and competitive
- Administering and modeling stock equity programs in partnership with the Finance Leadership Team
- Driving compensation program improvements to meet rapidly changing business objectives
- Developing communication and education plans to ensure employees are well informed with compensation-related processes such as merit and bonus cycles, pay changes, etc.
- Negotiating and contracting plan providers, vendors, auditors, and consultants
- Assisting the HR Business Partners with compensation escalations and ensuring employees have accurate, timely answers to compensation questions
- In conjunction with the HRIS Team, maintaining employee data in Workday
- Providing advice to leadership on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience in compensation plan administration
- 3+ years leading a compensation team
- Compensation experience in a large, multi-state, complex environment
- Experience with sales and variable compensation plans
- Knowledge of compensation theory and practice in implementation of organization-wide pay structures and special pay and incentive policies
- Well organized and confident, team player and team leader with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment and interface with all levels of an organization
- Strong MS Word and Excel skills
- Knowledge and experience with retirement plan administration and fiduciary responsibilities
- Experience with Workday is a plus
- Experience with compensation programs and databases is a plus
