What you will be doing
The Strategic Account & Sales Director for AllyDVM uses advanced consultative and strategic sales tactics to grow penetration of our AllyDVM platform solutions into existing (and to-be-prospected) strategic and highly integrated, manufacturer partners as well as directing and coordinating all sales activities at the corporate and general practice levels in the animal health business segment.
This role promotes and delivers targeted technology and professional services solutions in order to not only retain and renew existing customers but also to extend customer share of spend in existing customers and to win new key account business. The Strategic Account & Sales Director is accountable for maintaining and empowering the current business strategy and the consistent implementation plan of our business vision. This role directly reports into the Head of AllyDVM with close collaboration between MWI Sales Leadership and internally with our AllyDVM Director of Operations. This role is responsible for leading three teams of highly skilled sales and account managers in developing strategic sales tactics and standards to ensure consistency of our value proposition in the marketplace and increase successful closing of sales and long term partnerships opportunities using our software services platform.
The Strategic Account & Sales Director is responsible for generating innovative ideas to foster ongoing new business opportunities within the veterinary industry. Laser focused on building industry relationships and veterinary networks, this role will be pivotal in generating leads at industry events and exploring new opportunities with existing clients.
Areas of expertise needed:

Development of a Key Account Development Business Plan that support new business growth objectives for AllyDVM, including specific sales strategy, objectives and tactics;

Ability to develop organic opportunities with existing customers and develop new business relationships with emerging customers;

Active pursuit of qualified and prioritized new business opportunities - with a focus on key identified sectors such as GPOs, corporate groups and manufacturer partners;

Ongoing monitoring of current market landscape for new business development related opportunities and challenges, with transfer of relevant information to appropriate AllyDVM and MWI team.

Mentorship and advocacy of support for leading sales and account management teams along with sales leadership cultivation tactics is a must.

Management of AllyDVM Animal Health’s presence and representation at select industry events.

The Strategic Account & Sales Director will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time.

Appropriate business related travel as needed.
What your background should look like

Minimum 10 years’ experience in animal health sales, pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or biotechnology experience.

University Degree in Science, Technology, or Management, post-graduate degree an asset

Experience in leading sales and account management teams

Proven ability to network and develop new business relationships

Advanced knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution industry

Strong business and financial acumen

Strong analytical and mathematical skills

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
