About Us
Children's Learning Centers of Fairfield County (CLC) is currently seeking an Disability and Mental Health Coordinator for its Head Start and Early Head Start Program in Stamford, CT.
Duties
- Observing and assessing children and their need for dedicated special services
- Ensure all referrals for each child is processed and submitted in a timely manner
- Provide support, resources, and advocacy for both children and families prior, during, and after the referral process
- Liaise with the Local Education Agency to ensure delivery of services and monitor these services including screening status, referrals, PPTs, and delivery.
- Develop and implement professional development for staff on topics such as identifying and supporting children, social and emotional development, and mental health.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders - children, families, community partners, Stamford Public Schools, etc.
- Understanding of child development, knowledge of special needs, the PPT process
- Knowledge of HS/EHS Performance Standards, School Readiness goals, Connecticut ELDS
- Ability to travel throughout the City of Stamford
- Bi-lingual preferred
