Position Summary:

Entry level opportunities available as well! We offer positions for the culinary curious and give you the opportunity to grow from the ground up. The Dishwasher is a key part of the Ballast Point kitchen team and ensures our kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils are maintained in clean and orderly condition, while always keeping the Company's high standards of quality, cleanliness, and efficiency in mind. May of our kitchen employees at BP have started from the beginning and worked their way up to a cook lead or Sous Chef. We are invested in promoting from within our team and helping team members achieve their goals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and clean all dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans and related food use items
  • Safely operate dishwasher and check items for cleanliness; load appropriate soap levels and time cycles
  • Store cleaned, dried items in proper places
  • Transport items between dining room and dish room
  • Remove garbage from area and dispose of in proper waste containers, and operate garbage disposal unit
  • Clean floor of any spillage of water, detergent and/or foodstuffs per safety and sanitation guidelines for all food and chemical handling
  • Wash worktables, walls, floors, and department equipment
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas and restock supplies when needed
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to customers, vendors, peers, and managers
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Chef

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School diploma or GED, preferred
  • Solid customer service skills and abilities
  • Team player that possess a "can-do" attitude
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays and alternative work weeks
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and adapt quickly to resolve problems
  • Dedicated to teamwork and open communication
  • Lift and carry for a short distance up to 10 pounds regularly and 50 pounds rarely
  • Full Time availability
  • Schedule flexibility with nights, weekends, and holiday availability preferred

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
  • Frequently spend 8 hours working, standing, walking, and remaining stationary on feet
  • Frequently talk or hear
  • Frequently use taste and smell senses
  • Continuously reach, push, pull, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe
  • Frequently wash hands and handle cleaning products
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Frequently manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to cut, measure, pour, serve, carry, and wipe
  • Frequently use close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus between the two

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and demanding in a bar/restaurant setting with a loud noise level, high level of activity, and in close proximity to others. The environment can range in temperatures from hot to cold and occasionally work in and out of refrigerated environments with slippery floors.
