Over 75 years ago a new style of pizza was born in the Motor City, and it was different. What makes a pizza Detroit-Style?

The same things that made Detroit, MI – a little bit of ingenuity, some stubborn spirit and a whole lot of heart. It’s what sparked an original idea back in 1946 to take a steel auto pan, create something new and make Buddy’s the birthplace of Detroit-Style Pizza. Detroit-Style Pizza is recognizable by its iconic square shape and crunchy, cheesy corner slices.

Founded on the corner of Six Mile and Conant Buddy’s has now grown to over 20 locations and is expanding throughout the mid-west to introduce Detroit-Style Pizza beyond the Detroit area.

Dough (Job Overview)

Buddy’s is seeking a Dishwasher to join our Kitchen Team. Our Dishwashers play an essential role in serving our guests and delivering a great dining experience! Buddy’s offers a fun working environment with competitive pay, meal benefits and growth opportunities.

A dishwasher’s job is to provide a clean and sanitary environment for co-workers and Buddy’s Guests. This is accomplished by maintaining clean plateware and flatware for our Guests, as well as clean utensils, pots, and pans for all Buddy’s employees.

Cheese (Responsibilities)

• Thoroughly cleans all dishware, utensils, pots and pans using dishwasher and by hand.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Maintains a clean dishwasher machine.
• Cleans all floor mats and places them in position.
• Properly stores all dishes, kitchenware, and equipment.
• Empties and removes trash and breakdown of boxes
• Keeps Managers informed on any concerns and suggests alternative courses of action.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with company policies.
• Maintains a favorable work relationship with all company employees, to promote a harmonious work environment.
• Always provides a favorable image of Buddy’s Pizza.
• Demonstrates teamwork by assisting other employees with duties as needed.
• Applies all the company’s safety and sanitation procedures.
• Possesses knowledge of other popular destinations in the area.
• All other duties assigned

Toppings (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)

• Follows health and safety guidelines.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation practices.

Sauce (Education and Experience)

• Less than a high school diploma required
• No experience required – we are happy to train

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Follows health and safety guidelines.
• Needs to be able to stand for long periods of time and must be able bend, stretch, kneel, twist, and lift to 45 lbs comfortably.
• This position is frequently exposed to hot water, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals.
