DISTRIBUTION CENTER DISPATCHER - Hershey's Ice Cream

Located in Middletown, PA

Job Summary

• Consistent Schedule – Average a 45–50-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday Production Days (all overtime)
• Daylight Shift Only - approx. hours of 6:00am-3:00PM, or until completion.
• Consistent Overtime Pay – overtime after 40 hours each week
• Starting at $22.50/hour - Earn time and a half per OT hour

Job Responsibilities

• Schedule the receiving of Finished Goods Loads while ensuring accuracy in products loaded and invoiced.
• Coordinate with shipping and trucking companies to ensure timely deliveries and pick ups.
• Maintain relationships with shipping and trucking companies and explore and evaluate new partnerships.
• Monitor and track shipments, ensuring that they are delivered on time and in good condition.
• Communicate effectively with Branch Managers and Operations Managers to ensure smooth operation of the warehouse, up to date inventory lists and substitution lists.
• Resolve any issues or concerns related to shipments or deliveries quickly and professionally.
• Coordination between carriers and branches/distributors to ensure products are delivered efficiently and cost effectively.
• Review freight charges on a weekly or monthly basis to ensure our carrier partners are remaining accurate with rates.
• Work with the Supply Chain team to coordinate pickups of raw materials and finished goods as needed.
• Review production schedules and verify run yields once inbound to MDT.
• Work with production to ensure adequate inventory levels of each SKU.
• Qualify / disqualify freight company referrals that are generated from other departments in the company as requested.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety guidelines.

Required Job Skills & Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age, with a High School Diploma or GED preferred; training is a plus.
• Proven experience as a dispatcher in a warehouse or transportation setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other dispatching software
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes.
• Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety guidelines
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Good listening skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
