Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm/30 hours per week

Serves as a limited-term Document Imaging Technician which directly supports the department’s digitization project efforts. This position will serve as a member of a team that provides the administering and automation of the department’s property land records digitization project.
Performs technical paraprofessional duties that support the digitization of the county’s historical property records, including but not limited to complex research to include independent review of content to be digitized, performing the digitization workflows and processes assembled, maintaining the accuracy of the digitized imaged data sets within the content management system, and performing quality control of digitized content for accuracy of final work product.
Primary responsibilities are to ensure the administration of the document imaging computer programs designed to transfer paper files to a web-based repository are achieved completely and accurately.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and two years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity or work experience with digital content management including OpenText and document imaging processes.
Effective organizational skills by utilizing time management, thereby, successful in accomplishing tasks within a given timeframe.
Intermediate experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Access Database.
Must have strong attention to details; experience in setting priorities and attend to multiple tasks effectively; solution driven while resolving issues/concerns in a prompt and professional manner; communicate effectively, orally and in writing with all levels of management including internal and external customers. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work autonomously, while fully completing the projects set requirements. Self-motivated, focused, and diligent with end goal a must.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires ability to lift boxes and push a file cart weighing up to 30 lbs. Ability to input and retrieve data from a computer. Must be able to exchange information accurately with others verbally and in writing. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

Note: This position may not exceed 1560 hours per calendar year. Individuals in these positions are eligible for limited employee benefits, including medical, vision and dental insurance coverage, and participation in flexible spending programs, but are not eligible to earn leave or receive holiday pay. A one day teleworking option may be considered after a six month period of employment. Candidates must note that teleworking is subject to change in accordance with updates to the applicable Fairfax County policies. Such policy changes may increase, decrease, or eliminate teleworking privileges.
