If so, we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual like YOU to join our team at Zoom Room Torrance as a Dog Trainer and Customer Service Associate.

In this role, you will be responsible for teaching group classes and private lessons, and developing individualized behavior plans for dogs. You will also be responsible for evaluating incoming dogs and recommending appropriate training, promoting and selling retail products, and assisting with day-to-day operations of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach obedience and agility group classes and workshops, utilizing only positive reinforcement training techniques

• Teach private lessons and develop individualized behavior plans as needed

• Evaluate incoming dogs and recommend appropriate type of training (private vs. group, beginner vs. advanced)

• Recommend and educate clients on appropriate retail products for their pups during and after classes

• Assist with day-to-day operations of the facility including stocking shelves, cleaning the gym, answering the phone and other client inquiries

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Previous customer service experience and excellent communication skills

• Must possess basic computer skills

• Genuine interest in understanding canine behavior and continually improving training methods

• Keen observational and critical thinking skills with an ability to think on your feet

• Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes

• Willingness to work as part of a team and always be learning

Preferred Qualifications:

• Social Media

• Prior experience working with or training dogs in either a private or group settings

About Zoom Room Dog Training:

The Zoom Room's indoor dog training gym provides a safe, indoor space for dogs and puppies to receive socialization and training alongside their owners. Using only positive training methods, we help people deepen the bonds of communication with their pups through obedience, agility, and enrichment classes. We regularly give back to local rescues through direct donations and fundraiser events that we host ourselves. It's a wonderful environment for dog lovers - both our clients and our team.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
