We service clients in Smoke Rise/Stone Mountain, Lilburn, Tucker, Norcross, Snellville, Lawrenceville, Grayson, and Loganville Georgia. We're now hiring an experienced Dog Trainer who promotes fair and ethical balanced/positive training methods. The dog trainer position will be responsible for creating customized training programs to promote good dog behaviors and helping dog owners with their individualized dog training. Some of the primary dog trainer duties are identifying problem behaviors, teaching the owner methods to train their dog, developing a customized training plan for the dog, and creating a welcoming environment. Having the ability to understand the owner and dog's needs is a must.

This person must be able to easily commute to clients within our service area in order to provide one-on-one dog training. They will evaluate client’s concerns, goals, dog lifestyle and environment, and create realistic expectations and devise training plans accordingly. They will adjust training plans and techniques in relation to the dog's progress, as well as educate owners about their dog’s behaviors and teach them appropriate commands.

Responsibilities for Dog Trainer

  • Creating individualized/customized training plans for each dog
  • Teaching commands to both dogs and owners
  • Teaching owners about overall dog behavior, their own dog’s behavior and how to reinforce good dog behavior
  • Understanding and identifying pet owner's needs
  • Listening to dog owner concerns

Qualifications for Dog Trainer

  • Certification in Dog Training or Mentorship with an Experienced Dog Trainer
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Knowledge of dog commands
  • Ability to communicate effectively with variety of clients and human personalities
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with different dog breeds
  • History of dog ownership
  • Ability to create a plan of action for owners
  • Ability to identify problems and provide solutions
  • Patience with stubborn dogs
  • Strong time management skills and multi-tasking ability
  • Outgoing personality

Our Dog Trainers will be the first point of contact to talk with prospective clients about themselves and the dog training program. This person will promote 2 Paws Up Inc and their services to the community.

This position will be an employee of 2 Paws Up Inc - not a contractor position. What does this mean? WE pay your worker’s compensation insurance and deduct the appropriate federal and state taxes on a weekly basis.
