Sound Quarry Inc., a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Driller for Drilling and Blasting in Nome, Alaska. The Driller will oversee and perform all Drilling at various locations, in accordance with all Federal, State and Local rules and regulations.

• Be responsible for precise inventory of all blasting materials onsite at the Quarry and Maintain accurate files to provide to necessary agencies as required.
• Operate and maintain all equipment required in Drilling/Blasting operations.
• Work with other employees at the Quarry in the safe and efficient methods of drilling and blasting at the Quarry.
• Other Duties as Assigned

• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• 10 years of Drilling experience.

• Knowledge of Drilling and Blasting equipment safety
• Knowledge of Drilling and Blasting equipment maintenance and storage
• Ability to set up drilling and blasting patterns according to size of rock being produced.
• Ability to work in a composite type crew environment.

• Five (5) years of previous rock quarry experience.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License with applicable endorsements.
• Current MSHA and First Aid/CPR certification.

Job is performed outdoors with almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.

• No supervisory responsibilities.
