The Economic Services Administration (ESA) is looking for Social Service Specialist 5 (Supervisor) to join our team in the Virtual Case Management Center. This is a great opportunity to grow your social service skills and gain some valuable experience for future advancement opportunities.
In this role, you will directly supervise and manage workflow and quality assurance for a unit of Social Service Specialists who assist people in accessing all of the Community Services Division's social service programs.
Some of what you'll do:
- Establish unit workloads and quality standards; review eligibility determinations to ensure that appropriate data gathering and verification techniques are utilized
- Assign, prioritize and review work assignments to a unit of Social Service Specialists
- Provide consultation and direction in the handling of cases
- Review activity reports to ensure planned unit volumes are being maintained and work is processed timely
- Conduct regular and productive unit and 1:1 meetings with staff; set performance expectations
- Hire and train new and existing staff in the law, policies, and procedures governing career development planning
What we're looking for:
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, clients, and the public
- Excellent computer and applications skills
- Leadership skills to effectively coach staff
- Ability to create and manage reports
- Knowledge of State and Federal rules relating to DSHS CSD programs
- Experience managing, leading, and coaching others
- Ability to work in a team environment and build positive professional relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Who should apply:
Professionals who have one of the following:
- Two years of experience as a Social Service Specialist 3
- Four years as a Social Service Specialist 2
- A master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field AND four years of paid social service experience. A two-year Master's degree in one of the above fields that included a practicum may be substituted for one year of paid social service experience.
- A bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field, AND six years of paid social service experience.
