E-Commerce Business Development Manager Job at Central Garden & Pet - Dog/Cat Segment
Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ: CENT) is a leading innovator, marketer, and producer of quality branded products for the pet, lawn, and garden supplies markets. Our Dog and Cat business unit is searching for an E-Commerce Business Development Manager to serve as a key member in helping to drive the overall online expansion strategy for our Nylabone, Four Paws, and IMS brands. This position will lead the Company’s growth in online sales through launching aggressive go-to-market strategies, ongoing account management, and effective marketing and promotional program development.
Reporting to the Vice President, E-Commerce & Digital Marketing, the E-Commerce Business Development Manager will play a key role in helping the organization achieve our goals and objectives on a high-growth, high-visibility sales team. The ideal candidate is an E-Commerce expert with e-retail experience on both the brand side and buying side. This person is highly analytical, well versed in E-Commerce trends and tools. They think big, multi-task, work smart, organized, detailed, innovative and are entrepreneurial.

- Identify, develop, and implement E-Commerce strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of third-party opportunities for broad expansion across marketplaces based on profitability, sales, level of complexity and speed-to-market.
- Launch and manage seller accounts across marketplaces.
- Conduct research to identify and launch net new customer channels.
- Build strong communication channels at all levels, set proper expectations, provide clear status communications, and manage towards a growth plan.
- Own the e-commerce channel, including consumer experience, management of assortment, analytics, reporting, merchandising and growth strategy.
- Support communication and execution of brand go-to-market strategies and tactics.
- Track sales/share growth and branded site KPIs.
- Own promotional activities including planning, launch, post-event analysis of spend, ROI and analysis.
- Report E-commerce financials, provide insights and learnings to the leadership team monthly.
- Own pricing, fill rates, out of stocks and coordinate with inventory management to minimize lost sales.
- Own weekly, monthly quarterly market share reporting and competitor analysis.
- Lead Private Label efforts, managing cross-functional and customer facing communication.
- Partner cross-functionally with digital marketing, copy, creative, brand marketing, inventory management, forecasting, sales, reputation management, and other teams to provide visibility, transparency and efficiency with project work.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or similar field.
- 5+ years of experience in e-Commerce with prior experience supporting Amazon Seller Central.
- Highly analytical; Expert in account level eCommerce tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Deep understanding of E-Commerce space, overall trends, and technology.
- Ability to independently learn new tools and technology to support the business.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with strong communication (both written and verbal) skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment in a highly visible role.
- Intellectual curiosity and thirst for innovation and success.
- Highly organized, accurate, quick learner, proactive and have a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of the pet space preferred.
