Eagle Hall Coordinator Job at College of Southern Idaho
Under the Direction of the Dean of Students, the Residence Hall Coordinator is responsible for providing overall leadership, management, and supervision of the on-campus residence hall housing a maximum of 248 residents. Primary responsibilities include paraprofessional staff supervision and development, administration and building management, student conduct, hall council advising, summer operations, and other departmental/campus wide responsibilities.
For this position, we are seeking a visionary leader who understands the importance and the impact a robust, living and learning environment can have on the development and overall success of resident students. The Coordinator will create and promote a living and learning environment that is safe and conducive to the overall success and development of the resident students.
This person must be knowledgeable in the aspects of the College of Southern Idaho and have the desire and ability to work with students, parents, faculty, and the public in a pleasant and professional manner. This is a 12-month, full time residential position. Compensation includes a two-bedroom apartment, utilities, and a meal plan through the dining services.
Major Duties/ Accountabilities:
Staff Supervision and Development
- Selection, training, supervision, and leadership for paraprofessional staff
- Planning and conducting orientation and training prior to the start of each semester
- Provide for the individual development of the paraprofessional staff
- Facilitate on-going training and team building throughout the academic year
- Facilitate regularly scheduled all-team and individual staff meetings
Residential Education and Community Development
- Planning and implementation of educational, cultural, academic, social, personal well-being activities designed to meet the diverse developmental needs of residential students
- Promote an environment that is built on respect and the understanding of others
- Build a strong sense of community designed to develop connections between resident students and staff
- Conduct formal and informal evaluations and assessments to determine the needs of students and to facilitate ongoing improvements and planning to the program
Crisis Management
- Respond to and manage emergency situations within the residence hall and communicate to others appropriately
- Facilitate training for paraprofessional staff around Crisis Management
- Develop strong working relationships with the Counseling and Campus Safety areas
- Participate and organize for paraprofessional staff, yearly AED and CPR/First Aid certification classes
- Ensure policy enforcement and manage low-level student conduct cases
- Refer all cases of conduct violations and concerns through the Maxient conduct system
Administration and Building Management
- Responsible for room assignments and room change process, and ensuring information is up to date within the Student Information System
- Manage all records in conjunction with the Office of the Registrar
- Ensure a successful check-in and check-out process
- Coordinate program budgets
- Organize damage liability and documentation
- Ensure the proper management of keys
- Build and maintain working relationships with Maintenance and Facilities area
- Address behavioral and low level student conduct issues in Conjunction with the Dean of Students
Advise Eagle Hall Council
Summer Operations
- Coordinate summer housing and camp opportunities as availability dictates
- Hire, train, and supervise summer housing staff
- Facilitate billing process
- Oversee the end of the semester furniture repairs and cleaning of the residence hall in collaboration with College Facility Operations
Maintain confidentiality in accordance to FERPA
Assist in all duties in the Student Affairs Office
Other duties as assigned.

Must possess:
- Ability to operate a personal computer with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Must live in the campus housing facility provided
- Must be able to address and respond to crisis and other issues 24 hours a day as a live-on professional.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- Master’s degree in a related field preferred/or the equivalence of education and experience
