Education Program Office Assistant Job at Oregon State University
This recruitment will be used to fill One part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Education Program Office Assistant for the College of Forestry at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Oregon Natural Resources Education Program (ONREP) and the Oregon Environmental Literacy Program (OELP) provide environmental education training, workshops, and support for PreK-12 educators throughout the state.
This part-time student program assistant position will support staff with all aspects of the environmental education professional development that ONREP offers and various short-term and long-term projects and tasks for OELP.
The person in this position will serve an important role supporting and improving statewide environmental education and be an integral member of the ONREP and OELP Teams.

This position will have a fair amount of autonomy in managing projects, workflow, and personal time management. Overall program support:
- communication
- maintain and update records
- workflow innovations and improvements
- research projects
Communication:
- Clearly and consistently communicate with the ONREP team via in-person, email, Teams, and virtual conversations and the shared task list spreadsheet. Attend and contribute to ONREP team meetings as schedule allows
- Facilitate information via email and phone calls with facilitators, partners, and workshop participants
Professional development event and office support, which may include:
- Data entry and word processing using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, the shared OSU network drive
- Technical support such as, website content management, creating and editing of spreadsheets, creating flyers, consistent and frequent social media posts, research, compiling data
- Printing and archiving documents, preparing and shipping materials, processing documents post-workshop
- Maintain orderly inventory and organization of supplies in all working spaces, digital and physical

- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
- International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
- Applicants show a high degree of accountability to maintaining work schedules and prioritizing, managing and completing multiple tasks with various completion dates.
- Applicants demonstrate excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Applicants demonstrate a commitment to promoting and enhancing equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Applicants will be self-motivated, and able to work independently and within the team.
- Applicants will be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Applicants demonstrate a high proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Adobe Acrobat and Facebook
- Proficiency in graphic design software and virtual communication such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams
- Experience using various program management tools: email listservs, Qualtrics, Drupal, etc.
- Experience with website content management
