Work Schedule/Location: 8:00 – 5:00 PM or as needed
Length of Time in Position: New
Title Requested: Educator/Community Outreach Coordinator
Immediate Supervisor/Title: Executive Director and Director of Education

Position Summary: The Educator/Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible to the Executive Director for marketing, scheduling, and conducting evidenced based programs for the community.
He/she is responsible to the Director of Education for teaching the
Certified Nurse Assistant program. He/she will assist the Director of
Education in marketing the training program as well as other educational opportunities provided by Oaklawn Center on Aging, Inc.

Standard Duty Areas, assigned as needed

Nurse Aid Training Program: The Educator/Community Outreach
Coordinator will conduct Nurse Aide Training program classes, keeping curriculum up to date in accordance with the Office of Long
Term Care, market the training program, schedule appointments and interview potential students for acceptance to the Nurse Aide
Training program. He/She will assist in maintaining student records in compliance with the Arkansas Office of Long Term Care.

Community Outreach: The Educator/Community Outreach Coordinator will schedule, market, teach, contact participants, and maintain records of community programs and follow up as needed. Will maintain license and certifications to provide evidenced based and quality geriatric educational programs. Will collaborate with community/educational partners in the development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs. Is active in conducting programs for all target groups.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to follow oral instruction, read, and write
  • High School, GED or formal educational equivalent
  • Licensed Practical Nurse, active license, not subject to any current disciplinary action by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing, required; Registered Nurse, preferred
  • Minimum 1 year Long Term Care experience, required
  • Teaching experience, preferred
  • Geriatric experience, preferred
