Position Summary:

The 2nd Class Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is to preserve the excellent condition and functionality of our business premises. Some electrical work to include troubleshooting, checking/changing fuses, resetting starters and breakers, unwiring/wiring up to 5 hp motors. Other duties will include assistance with conducting quality assessments, scheduling repairs, maintaining inventory and developing preventative maintenance procedures. Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems and basic tools and applications. Ability to problem-solve and work with a team- oriented attitude.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The employee performs a wide range of maintenance functions, including but not limited to the following:

· Set up work areas and obtain appropriate parts and materials.

· Assist with assembling and installing new equipment and machines.

· Assist with the development and perform preventative maintenance procedures and perform specified maintenance on machines and equipment.

· Modify existing equipment as required to reduce downtime and maximize effectiveness.

· Provide technical support and/or problem-solving activities.

· Maintain a clean and functioning work area for safety.

· Perform related duties (including those in other areas of production) as assigned by Supervisor.

· Follow all company safety guidelines including wearing the proper protective equipment for job.

· Maintain compliance with all company guidelines and procedures.

· Inspect buildings, equipment and systems to identify any issues.

· Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures.

· Plan and schedule repairs.

· Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.

· Perform general maintenance tasks.

· Some electrical work to include troubleshooting, checking/changing fuses, resetting starters and breakers, unwiring/wiring up to 5 hp motors.

· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must be authorized to work in the United States.

· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

· Electrical experience a plus.

· Previous experience in quality assurance/control or a similar field required, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.

· Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision.

Physical Requirements:

· Regularly required to sit, speak, and listen for extended periods of time

· Frequently required to use eye‐hand coordination, repetitive hand movements and manual dexterity to handle, finger, or feel

· Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time

· Required to bend, reach to shoulder level and lift, carry, twist, push and/or pull a minimum of 50 pounds

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus

· Hearing level within normal/average range

· Must be comfortable with heights

· Ability to wear personal protective gear (PPE) correctly for the entirety of shift

Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to season change. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.

Compensation:

· Starting at $24.00 per hour

· Trainee period - Up to 90 days

· Overtime available; paid at 1.5x regular rate of pay and 2x regular rate of pay on Sunday’s

Work Schedule:

· Hours per day: 8 to 12

· Days per week: 6 to 7

· Mandatory overtime (Varies with production schedule)

· Must be open to work 1st, 2ndor 3rd shift
