We are currently looking to fill an opening for an Electrician at our Warrenton, Missouri location.

SUMMARY

Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. In each of the duties listed below the employee is expected to perform to the highest standards of quality, to strive for maximum customer satisfaction, and to continually look for ways to improve the methods, practices and procedures of this position.

  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose problems.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
  • Pushes buttons and presses keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Assists in maintaining documentation for existing and new equipment and controls installations.
  • Works independently in troubleshooting and repairs problems with Programmable Logic Controllers and related components when required.
  • Able to obtain back-up PLC programs from a server to reload and reboot PLC programs to restore faulted equipment.
  • Assists with system startups and operational checkouts on systems including configuration, wiring, calibration, grounding and power testing.
  • Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of equipment or systems repairs or replaces defective components.
  • Experienced in the use of electrical diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, amp clamps and meggers to test electrical circuits and components to locate shorts, faulty connections, defective parts and replaces or repairs to suite.
  • Reads and interprets electrical and electronic drawings, schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings and sketches to determine problem and make appropriate repairs.
  • Examines and tests components and supports systems to ensure that they are in compliance with all standards and regulations.
  • Must be competent to make electrical/mechanical diagnostic evaluation and prescribe corrective action.
  • Acts safely and complies with all safety policies and regulations. Reports unsafe acts, conditions, or behaviors to Supervisor, Safety Committee member, or Union Representative.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; four to eight years related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience. Some coursework in PLCs/Ladder Logic required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Completion of DOL recognized apprenticeship program and current electrical licenses preferred.
