POSITION DESCRIPTION

he person hired for this position will be supporting our long-term Florida contracts for the Air Force (Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Patrick Space Force Base, and Homestead Air Reserve Base) and NASA Kennedy Space Center. Projects involve environmental investigation and remediation, including design, implementation, and performance monitoring to reach site closure.

This position will also provide broader regional opportunities to support remotely multi-year innovative remediation projects for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and NASA projects throughout the southeast.

Responsibilities/Duties

The person hired for this role will be responsible for:

• Preparation of remediation work plans, remedial designs, and project deliverables (e.g., UFP-QAPPs, FSPs, RI/FS Reports, SSHP/HASPs, technical memoranda).
• Alternatives evaluation and design supporting environmental remediation activities, including soil excavation, in situ treatment, thermal treatment, air sparging, and waste management.
• Design calculations, data collection and analysis, conceptual site model development, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Direct engineering activities during investigation, planning, design, implementation, and completion (as-built) project phases.
• Ability to execute multiple projects and tasks concurrently, while adhering to schedule

Required Skills

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

The ideal candidate will need the following as a foundation for success in this role:

• 
  Bachelor's degree in an engineering field related to Environmental Studies such as: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years directly related experience.
• FL professional registration or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral) including the ability to comfortably engage with varying levels of leadership, internal and external stakeholders, etc.
• Coordination of field subcontractors for environmental investigation and/or remediation activities. The above-described experience on a CERCLA, DoD, DOE, EPA, or RCRA project/site.
• Possess or obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification upon employment and be able to work in various levels of PPE, if required.

Preferred Skills

WHAT YOU NEED TO STAND OUT

• Experience working on U.S. federal contracts.

• PFAS investigation and remediation experience.
• Experience with multiple remedial technologies - evaluation and design.
• Proven ability to manage and lead a small team through previous experience as an informal lead/mentor/trainer.
• Preparation of engineering technical specifications.
• M.S. degree in engineering with a focus in Environmental Studies or related field.
