The Engineering Manager plans and coordinates activities required to assure effective, reliable, and safe operation of the buildings and grounds of Camden Clark Medical Center. This position also designs and implements staffing plans to assure availability of resources to perform regular maintenance and repair activities. Coordinates resources to assure timely and cost effective completion of in-house construction projects. Also assists the Director of Engineering with development and monitoring of departmental budgets. They will designs and implement seasonal staffing plans to assure timely management of snow and ice. In order to complete assigned duties the Engineering Manager will have access to all clinical and non-clinical departments including locked medication rooms on nursing units.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Possesses the knowledge normally gained through completion of a community college course of study related to management of the maintenance needs of commercial buildings. Equivalent knowledge gained through a minimum of 2 years of supervisory\experience in a hospital maintenance department and documented job related training will be considered
EXPERIENCE:
1. At least 3 years’ experience in working in a direct service role in a hospital engineering department.

1. Supervise the day-to-day management of plant operations and maintenance activities including:
- Development and management of the area maintenance technician program
- Coordination of response to daily calls for emergency repairs and corrective maintenance
- Assessment of needs for calibration, inspection, and maintenance of utility systems and equipment
- Development of procedures for calibration, inspection, and maintenance of utility systems and equipment
- Monitoring of the timeliness of completion of work orders for calibration, inspection, and maintenance of utility systems and equipment
- Monitoring of work order volumes to assure effective distribution of workload among engineering staff
2. Manage the hiring, evaluation, and discipline of direct report staff in accordance with CCMC Human Resources policies
3. Monitor the condition of the building and utility systems and make recommendations for rebuilding, renovating, or replacing as appropriate
4. Work with the Facilities Manager to develop plans; specifications; and pricing for construction projects and major repairs as required
5. Work with contractors and vendors to coordinate schedule construction and installation of equipment and systems
6. Work with contractors and vendors to conduct appropriate Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) and Proactive Construction Risk Assessments (PCRA)
7. Monitor compliance with ILSM and PCRA plans on assigned construction projects
8. Manage collection, analysis, and reporting of performance and quality information related to assigned work responsibilities
9. Coordinate performance improvement activities related to assigned work responsibilities
10. The Engineering Manager has access to, and is responsible for, performing assigned duties in locked medication rooms. The Engineering Manager is aware that they are not responsible for medications and they should report any unsecured medications to a licensed professional.

12. Demonstrate knowledge of parking / hospital department locations.
13. Demonstrate knowledge and adheres to dress code.

16. Demonstrates knowledge of physical health /wellness information and Exposure Control Plan.
17. Demonstrates knowledge of Office/workplace safety.
18. Demonstrates knowledge of Risk Management / Occurrence Report Practices /Non-punitive Work Environment.

6. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows correct chain of command in handling challenges and issues, including crisis situations.
7. Assumes responsibility by ensuring continued professional growth of self, attending formal and/or informal educational/professional activities.
8. Ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort and to effectively meet work schedules including an ability to integrate multiple factors which may have an impact on patient care, including variances in human resources.
