We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to be responsible for maintaining our product model database, standard engineering practices, and engineer-to-order daily activities. The Engineering Manager leads the team responsible for data accuracy and problem resolution for production related to model (or bill-of-material) accuracy and assists other product support teams when necessary. Additionally, the Engineering Manager always strives for a complete and accurate process by maximizing value-added work on the team. This role coaches junior engineers to improve their problem-solving skills, approach to product quality, design for manufacturing, and communication.
What you'll do
- Ensure production teams have accurate and complete information by prioritizing engineer-to-order work
- Track and improve the days-to-engineer and release orders to production
- Act as product expert for Production, Sales, and Engineering teams
- Ensure modified products meet form, fit, and function requirements per customer request
- Manage both domestic and remote engineering teams and recruit as necessary
- Ensure that production problem reports are addressed in a timely manner and complete root cause analysis to prevent future issues
- Address and actively manage engineering CSRs
What you'll need to know
- How to work with and optimize 3D model software (specifically Autodesk Inventor) with a strong understanding of its capabilities
- How to create and review parametric CAD models - a basic understanding of C++, VBA, or similar coding language will be helpful
- How to be data-orientated and comfortable with parsing information in SQL, MS access, and Excel
- How to be process-focused and make improvements in a fast-paced environment

- Someone with a bachelors degree (or higher) in an Engineering field
- Someone with 5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2-3 years of leadership
- Someone willing to roll up their sleeves and work alongside their team

- Someone who continuously looks for improvements

Wage and Compensation
- This role can expect to earn $100,000 - $130,000 in annual salary

- INSURANCE | All employees and their dependents will have the ability to enroll in medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans. If enrolled, benefits begin on the first day of the month following the 60th day of employment at Watson.
