Job Description

An Enterprise Architect is a strategist and trusted advisor for project portfolios or domains across the entire enterprise. An Enterprise Architect contributes to the company by being a change agent and leading transformations. Architects are charged with identifying future state, assessing current state, identifying gaps between the states, and guiding change to reach the future state. The goal of an Enterprise Architect is to improve manageability, effectiveness, efficiency, and agility in order to have greater alignment between IT and the needs of the business. Researches new technologies looking for trends and opportunities to creatively support the needs of their domains. As a technical and strategic leader, mentors other architects in the area of architecture and governance. Effectively communicates with executive management, IT management, project managers, other architects, development teams, and line of business management to provide transparency and properly manage expectations.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will research innovative solutions and create prototypes to prove out your ideas.
  • You will work as a trusted advisor and strategic partner on projects across the enterprise.
  • You will train others in new technologies and help other architects learn frameworks and processes in order to better understand and support IT Governance policies and procedures.
  • You will focus your development on prototyping and proof of concepts for specific business needs and bridging the gap to future state.
Education & Experience Requirements
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, 12+ years of technical experience and 7+ years of architectural experience with multi-platform, distributed applications. Additional experience can be used in lieu of a degree. Architecture certifications are strongly preferred. It is also preferred that the candidate have Banking and Financial Service experience.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming languages and frameworks e.g., Microsoft .NET, ASP .NET, C#, Java, Python, and others
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture design concepts
  • Knowledge and experience with successfully navigating large, complex projects
  • Knowledge and experience with system integration techniques and patterns
  • Knowledge and experience with system modeling and diagramming approaches
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Understand information security and industry security best practices
  • Experience with multi-platform, distributed application implementations
  • Demonstrated experience consistently delivering high quality work
  • Experience with Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and cloud architectures and tools
  • TOGAF, Zachman or other formal Architecture framework or process experience
  • Experience with Agile (Scrum, Lean, Kanban, etc.), Six Sigma, or SDLC methodologies
  • Experience with Machine and Deep Learning and integration of cloud services into large-scale production applications.
  • Data science background and experience manipulating/transforming data, model selection, model training, cross-validation and deployment at scale.
  • Prior experience in an application development role is preferred but not required
