We are also interested in anyone who has worked in the electrical field is an electrical apprentice or journeyman in the trade. The skills that you have are very transferrable in the low-voltage lighting opportunity.

These positions are well-suited for someone with interest and experience pulling, terminating, labeling low voltage cable in a workmanlike manner to meet client needs, project goals, and quality standards. What you’ll do:

Perform installation and or supervisory responsibilities for installation of low voltage wiring, conduit, j-hooks, stud-rings, back boxes, light fixtures, and devices.

The foreman is responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, participating in, and inspecting the work of low voltage installers and trades helpers. Work is performed under general direction of an administrative superior and is reviewed through discussions and inspection of completed work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work for installers engaged in the installation of low voltage wiring, conduit, j-hooks, stud-rings, back boxes, light fixtures, and devices.

Trains and instructs subordinates on detailed procedures, as necessary.

Conducts periodic inspections and gives on-site supervision over hazardous or unusual work assignments; works with project manager to ensure availability of equipment, materials, and supplies.

Enforces safety regulations, rules, and working conditions.

Recruits and trains personnel in the safe operation of equipment and tools.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; 3 years of related experience including supervisory or lead experience and considerable experience as a journeyman electrician or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Excellent communication skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical trade.

Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.

Ability to communicate and coordinate with superiors, subordinates, vendors, and university personnel.

Skill in the use and care of all hand and shop tools and equipment of the electrician's trade.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour
