About the role: The primary responsibility of credentialed clinical application trainer is to lead end-user training using the established curriculum. This includes preparing for class, setting up the classroom, facilitating the class, and following up on any outstanding questions that arise in the classroom. Credentialed trainers also collect valuable feedback from trainees in class for reporting purposes. Trainers also provide support to end users after go live.

Essential Functions:
  • Testing lesson plans and training environment build
  • Facilitating study halls and personalization labs for providers or other attendees
  • Administering end-user proficiency assessments and in-system checklists
  • Supporting end users with at-the-elbow go-live support
  • Administering post-live refresher, optimization, and skills-enhancement training
  • Providing support and troubleshooting issues that arise in the training environment
  • Securing training rooms, workstations, printers, projectors and screens, barcode scanners, and other equipment needed for classroom training
  • Creating an efficient schedule for classroom training
  • Collaborating to develop specific training for new employees
  • Planning how to deliver new information about the system to end users before upgrades
  • Collaborate with team to develop skills enhancement training
  • Working with team to create a series of refresher training classes immediately following go-live
  • Assessing risks and issues associated with the training program
  • Providing support and troubleshooting to end users after go live
  • Learn other EMRs and clinical applications as needed
  • Travel of up to 50% is required.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 1 – 4+ years of experience in a technical application training capacity.
Preferred Experience:
  • Strong communication skills: Credentialed trainers need to communicate clearly and effectively in the classroom.
  • Adaptability/flexibility: Trainers work in a world of frequent change and need to quickly adapt to updates in the curriculum and the training environment.
  • Healthcare industry background: To understand the context of workflows, an understanding of the healthcare industry is important. For credentialed trainers who will train clinical applications, a clinical background is very helpful.
  • Computer proficiency: Candidates must be comfortable using computers and quickly master new software programs.
  • Digital literacy across an array of digital tools. Ability to use technology independently and strategically.
  • Capacity to manage multiple competing objectives and to clearly communicate results
  • Ability to lead others and to communicate the importance of training to all stakeholders
  • Experience with project management, adult education, and curriculum delivery
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills; ability to sequence activities logically
  • Ability to develop and adhere to time schedules in order to meet project deadlines
  • Interpersonal skills to function well in administrative, management, and patient care environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff that have a wide range of seniority.
  • Strongly desired: Experience with technology or healthcare.
  • Strongly desired: Existing knowledge of organizational culture, personnel, and processes.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to use PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software to create teaching and learning materials and documentation.
  • Excellent knowledge of English grammar and spelling for use in both verbal and written communication.

While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated Colorado and New York City compensation is $73,000 - $78,000.
