Ranch Hand will be responsible for keeping equine facility clean and neat, assisting with feeding, delivering supplements, ensuring horses are watered adequately, assisting with preparing horses for activities, help keep tack room clean and organized, assist with landscaping around ranch and any other duties required in helping the Equine team and facility run smoothly. Ranch Hands are also responsible for the mental and physical development of horses for beginner riders, and for keeping those horses sound and happy in their work. This is a riding position, so experience with young or green horses is preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Experience working around horses is required
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Takes initiative and is adaptable to any needs that may arise for Equine or Farm
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Current driver’s license
• Landscaping experience preferred
• Some maintenance experience preferred
• Tractor or heavy equipment experience preferred
• Knowledge in natural horsemanship methods and in the development of ranch horses strongly preferred

The ranch hand frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The ranch hand is also required to sit; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The ranch hand must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
