Equipment Rental Specialist Job at Hardware Sales Inc. Internet Division
Hardware Sales is seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Equipment Rental Clerk to join our team. As an Equipment Rental Clerk, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing inventory, and processing rental transactions for power tools, lawn and garden equipment, and heavy machinery. The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, and have experience working with computer systems.
Hardware Sales is a third-generation family owned company operating since 1962 and headquartered in Bellingham, WA. As part of the rentals division, you will be part of a team that supplies a wide variety of equipment options to both the commercial and residential sectors of the Pacific Northwest.

Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist them with rental requests.
- Provide excellent customer service, answer customer inquiries, and provide equipment demonstrations when necessary.
- Process rental agreements, ensuring all rental terms and conditions are met.
- Manage inventory, including tracking equipment availability, scheduling repairs, and ordering new equipment when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of rental agreements, inventory, and customer information using computer software.
- Ensure equipment is clean and ready for rental, and perform routine equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Operate cash register and process payments, including cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods.
- Handle customer complaints and provide resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Follow safety guidelines and regulations at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of power tools, lawn and garden equipment, and heavy machinery is a plus.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and rental software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment up to 50 pounds.
