Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement, the Events Manager will serve in a variety of capacities to support and enhance special events and Institutional Advancement endeavors for Cristo Rey High School, a Catholic, college and career prep high school in the heart of Kansas City. This is a critical support position that will require the ability to work closely and seamlessly with all members of the IA team, Cristo Rey staff, donors and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Functions as the primary point person for Dancing with the Kansas City Stars, the annual fundraiser for Cristo Rey, with an annual goal of $1 million dollars.
• Spearheads monthly engagement luncheons.
• Establishes and maintains positive relationships with vendors and volunteers.
• Ensures timely gift acknowledgements are sent to all donors.
• Assists with all other Institutional Advancement projects and endeavors to ensure positive engagement and stewardship donors, benefactors and community partners.
• Collaborates with Corporate Work Study Operations Manager and assists with all CWSP engagement events.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in events management; nonprofit experience preferred.
• Commitment to work between 8:00 and 5:00 pm five days per week, sometimes earlier or later as dictated by morning meetings, etc., and availability for Cristo Rey events.
• Excellent organizational, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and with individuals across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency with donor CRM and Google suite of programs.
• Must be adaptable and able to handle multiple responsibilities at one time.
• Must be able to manage budgets and timelines, work well with vendors and volunteers, be project-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
• Performs as a solutions-based team player, is professional, maintains confidentiality and has a donor-centric mentality.

Salary range: $50,000 - $55,000, based on experience.
