Experienced Clinical Documentation Specialist - Remote Job at MercyOne Northeast Iowa
Facilitates improvement in the overall quality completeness and accuracy of medical record documentation by physicians. Obtains and promotes appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff and Health Information Department coding staff to ensure that clinical documentation reflects the level of service rendered to patients is complete and accurate. Responsible for educating all members of patient care team on documentation guidelines on an ongoing basis. Adheres to Mercy One's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with our mission and values.

MUST HAVE CDI experience and possess one of the below:
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA),
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT),
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required,
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of practice,
- Licensure as a physician assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse (NP/APN) or completion of medical school.
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP) preferred.
