General Summary:

Set-up and operates handfeed/automatic threadroll machines using flat, cylindrical, or multi-purpose dies to form precision metal fasteners.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Sets-up and operates induction electrical heater and inspects parts by etching and visual inspection under microscope or comparator to determine die alignment. Changes and/or adjusts to accommodate length of fasteners.
• Changes and/or adjusts transfer mechanism, feed chute, and hopper for proper feeding and positioning of fasteners into automatic machine. Adjusts machine speed as required. Inspects fasteners to verify correct machine set-up and operation visually and with gauges to identify needs for readjustments of machine set-up or replacement of tooling. Repairs and adjusts installation tools.
• Uses cams, shims, and adjustment screws to align dies for correct impression.
• Installs dies and spacers. Uses common hand tools, bench grinder, micrometers, optical comparators, indicator plugs, depth and go/no go gauges, calipers, thread gauges, and spring testers.
• Operates two or more automatic machines. Works to close tolerances.
• Performs light maintenance including cleaning, lubricating, replacing or adjusting drive belts, changing cams and pins, replacing broken screws and belts when required.
• Dumps acceptable fasteners from catch pans into tote pans. Places travelling documents with completed work, and moves pans to holding area for transfer to next operation.

Education:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred

Experience and Background:

• 5+ suggested years of total experience
• Understands threadroll die geometry
• Understands how to run parts in heat forming or cold forming conditions
• Able to run the automatic threadrollers efficiently
• Understands NDT process for threadroll
• Able to set-up and maintain set-up throughout the run
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• The salary range for this position is $22.00 to $38.00 per hour.
