Job Description

Thompson Thrift Construction is seeking field project engineers to assist our superintendents/assistant superintendents on our project sites. This is an entry-level position with tremendous opportunities for advancement into a superintendent position. This individual will work closely with the superintendent and will help coordinate all tasks associated with ground up and tenant finish out construction. General Contractor / Site Supervision / Multifamily & Luxury Apartment Construction professionals

Such tasks include: scheduling and management of subcontractors and suppliers, punch list management, invoices and other documents, quality control, safety as well as budget and other project financial review.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Construction Management or related degree is required

  • Prior construction experience of 1-2 years is preferred

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to problem solves and multi-task

Once the project is complete candidates will travel to the next project site.

Performing this job will sometimes require the employee to walk work sites that do not have infrastructure, this includes walking on uneven surfaces, through mud, through ruts, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to finer, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear (bells, whistles, etc.), stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
