Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, a group of property and casualty companies rated A++ by A.M. Best, has an immediate opening for a Field Marketing Manager to represent our organization by visiting agencies to build and foster agency relationships in assigned territories.
Duties Include:

Acts as Field Marketing Manager visiting with mid-size and large agencies in the assigned territory. Routinely visits assigned agency partners or conducts virtual agency visits by phone or internet with a travel level of at least 50% of the time.

Responsible for monitoring and fostering agency relationships in an assigned territory by using consultative marketing techniques to help source the best opportunities for profitable growth of both the agency and the Company.

Uses advanced problem-solving skills to resolve issues for agents and customers.Sets goals with agencies in assigned territory based on their production and opportunities.

Reviews and analyzes targeted reports and conducts detailed, complex analysis on agency production to help determine a communication strategy with each agency relative to their goals and potential.

Frequently monitors new binding activity, as well as renewal retention for assigned group of agents for all Property & Casualty products.Prepares production data and relevant marketing material for distribution to agents.

Creates appropriate goals for assigned agencies and works with other reps in region to help them understand report analysis and help them to set their agency goals based on data and information obtained.

Suggests to management appropriate territory goals based on data and knowledge of territory.

Mentors marketing professionals in the field answering questions and coaching individuals on marketing visits. Serves as mentor regarding potential appointments, commitment levels, terminations, and other disciplinary actions within their territory.

Travels with marketing professionals and troubleshoots issues as they arise.May work across regions to help train reps in other parts of the organization.

Develops the marketing strategy for the assigned territory.Communicates regularly with product and underwriting teams to understand updates and changes to products to be able to train agents to use our products effectively.

Works with and directs others to work with the Marketing Communication team to design communications strategy specific to assigned territory.

Evaluates agencies in assigned territory to determine appropriate visit schedule.Works with marketing communications to evaluate which agencies should have an assigned rep, and which should be handled by Marketing Communications.

Evaluates new agency prospects identified by Marketing Communications team or other reps in the assigned territory.

Maintains a high level of product knowledge to be able to train other reps and agents on our products and encourage their submissions and binds.

Identifies possible opportunities for new business by working with agency partners to review in-force business. Assists underwriters in the retention and acquisition of large accounts by gathering marketing intelligence about the account and using the fostered agency relationship to help place the account. Oversees rollout of new product within territory.

Communicates issues raised by other reps and/or individual agents and troubleshoots any problems consulting with management on only the most difficult to resolve. Work with products team, development teams or other operational units to successfully solve the problem.

Identifies and communicates changes in the marketplace regarding competitors, coverage forms, pricing, and other items that may come up to management and company underwriters.

May attend conventions or other industry functions to maintain visibility to current and potential agents. Responsible for generating interest and developing a clear understanding regarding how to conduct business with BHHC.

Performs related duties as directed or as situation dictates such as assisting other groups in various product marketing launches, attends continuing education classes or seminars for sales and marketing, management courses, etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent
5+ years field experience
Knowledge of insurance and rating and insurance products
Company guidelines on acceptability and profitability for applications/accounts/policies
Insurance industry and marketing techniques
Microsoft Office and related software
Principles of finance, business, statistics, and insurance
Company, Agency, and department practices and procedures
Excellent oral and written communication with all levels of the organization and with Agents
Excellent customer service
Work independently
Ability to mentor marketing professionals
Respond well to demands on time and resource
Maintain confidentiality
Organize time and resources and handle multiple high priorities
Work with detail with accuracy
