Field service engineer (Fresno-Turlock-Modesto area)

THE JOB

• You’re responsible for installing, servicing and maintaining the equipment at our customer facilities according to the specifications. Partly you can solve issues by phone but most of the time you will go on site
• After installing the sorting machine you give technical training and education to your client on how to set-up the machine, use it and fix first line failures. You also give advice on how to maintain the machine
• You share your field experiences regarding bottlenecks and how to fix them with your service and engineering colleagues
• You’re also responsible for the administrative processing of the work performed and you write work instructions if necessary
• You report to the service coordinator

YOUR PROFILE

• Work location: travelling interstate + our hub in Turlock + home based.
• Experience level: a few years of experience as (service) technician, preferably in machinery. Graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Diploma: technical high school diploma or GED, associates or bachelor’s degree in a comparable mechanical or electronical field or equal by experience
• Working hours: flexible schedule in day shift (with relocation allowance)
• Travel frequency: about 140 days/year in the field. Experience with travelling is a big plus
• Languages: English (excellent). Spanish is a plus
• Knowledge: mechanics, electrical (1 phase power, 3 phase, low voltage DC), hydraulics, pneumatics, software. Experience with optics and lasers is a strong plus.
• Characteristics: communicative and client centered, analytical, problem solver, work independently, flexible and never lose your cool in stressful situations
