Halifax Paving, family owned and operated since 1955, has a proven track record of providing high quality asphalt and site work services in the Eastern/Northern Central Florida areas. We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment and diesel trucks in our Ormond Beach headquarters. Travel to various job sites to work on equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, rollers, paving machines, diesel trucks and more, will also be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic tasks in order to properly source parts and accurately repair heavy earthmoving equipment and diesel vehicles.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy earthmoving equipment and diesel vehicles in the field and shop as directed.
• Maintain appearance and operation of Company’s service truck.
• Work safely at all times, in accordance with Company policies/procedures.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Other tasks as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of diesel, hydraulic, and heavy equipment repair experience
• Must have general knowledge of heavy earthmoving equipment operations, systems and components
• Must be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tooling to perform all assigned duties
• High level of attention to detail
• Welding experience (a plus)
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (a plus)
• Class A/B CDL (a plus)
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

Minimum Physical Requirements:

• Push/pull up to 100 lbs
• Lift/carry up to 100 lbs
• Lift bulky objects
• Neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, reach and lift, ladder climb and carry, crawling.

Pay will be dependent upon experience.
