The primary purpose of this position is to assist First Commerce in fulfilling our Vision To Be Our Member's Financial Partner for Life. This is achieved through delivering Remarkable Member Service as defined by our Service Standards as well as building and maintaining strong member relationships through identification of member's financial needs and effectively recommending appropriate products and services to meet those needs.

Manages and influences the profitability of the assigned financial center with particular emphasis on relationship sales; expands the sales culture and sales processes and provides leadership and resources to achieve desired results; directs financial center staff activities towards attainment of financial center goals; utilizes problem solving, decision making, team building skills, and maintains a high degree of flexibility; promotes high morale and exhibits positive attitudes towards members and fellow team members while instilling a sense of team spirit throughout the financial center.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coaches financial center team to identify member's perceived and unperceived needs and refer or open the product or service that meets those needs. Promotes a sales culture that supports our Vision of "being our member's financial partner for life."
  • Complies with and ensures all team members comply with BSA, OFAC, and CIP requirements such as checking names against OFAC for new deposit or loan relationships and issuing cashier checks.
  • Continually promotes credit union products and services and performs outside marketing & business calls to promote full-service features of their financial center.
  • Ensures delivery of high-quality consistent service to both internal and external members that fulfill our Service Standards. Responds to telephone messages within 4 hours.
  • As assigned, responsible for staff administration and efficient daily operation of a full-service financial center office including but not limited to selection, training, coaching, developing, and motivating competent staff. Schedules, delegates work assignments, writes and conducts performance evaluations, makes employment decisions, sets up performance goals, and makes salary recommendations. Schedules and conducts regular staff meetings to keep staff informed and resolve problems, such as operations, lending, product sales, member service, and security and safety in accordance with the credit unions objectives.
  • Responsible for coaching and developing team member performance, production, quality and adherence to policies and procedures. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and guidelines of the credit union are strictly adhered to and that management is made aware of any deviation that will affect a member or the credit union. This includes but not limited to security and audit procedures.
  • Communicates with diplomacy, tact, and persuasion between direct reports, members, other departments, and management to ensure a positive result when handling escalated calls and other sensitive situations.
  • Assumes assigned responsibility for successful operation of financial center.
  • Ensures financial center is open and ready to conduct business according to financial center scheduled hours.
  • Ensures financial center is in balance at close of each business day.
  • Ensures proper closing procedures are followed.
  • Reviews and makes escalated loan decisions within the scope of authority level; Assures that all loans in need of further underwriting are escalated timely and with all documentation and notes necessary for a sound decision to be attained.
  • Responsible for general maintenance of the financial center, ensuring neat appearance, as well as safety and security of members, staff, and assets.
  • Leads by example the participation in Credit Union functions and sponsored functions.
  • Reviews financial center profitability and members for progress toward call center goals, works with manager in implementing individual member profitability plans.
  • Ensures all team members adhere to First Commerce's dress code.
  • Responsible for timely responses and corrections for quality assurance findings.
  • Ensures financial center monthly audits are completed by the 10th of each month.
  • Monitors member surveys and responds to member feedback. Utilize the feedback to maintain FCCU vision.
  • Monitor utilization of the First In Line App.
  • Participate in and assist in conjunction with Business Development and Community outreach programs to establish and maintain relationships that will enhance the growth and recognition of the credit union.
  • Authorizes exceptions to normal procedures when circumstances warrant or where deviation is justified.
  • Recommends alterations and revisions to financial center policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long-term objectives.
  • Responsible for demonstrating sound judgment in loan origination and providing clear and detailed notes, acting as the principal Officer of the Branch, interviewing, and assisting members.
  • Handles complaints registered by members involving the financial center. Keeps management informed.

Leadership Duties:

  • Ensures that the financial center team(s) delivers prompt, accurate, and courteous external and internal service in accordance with our Service Standards.
  • Oversees the quality and speed of department team. Offers and manages clear expectations of service levels.
  • Prepares and/or analyzes relevant special reports for distribution to Management, while maintaining departmental records and files.
  • Works within an approved budget; Develops and implements cost saving measures and conserves organizational resources.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, development, coaching, counseling, evaluating, and overall leadership management of credit union staff.
  • Sets and achieves challenging goals; Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles; Measures self against standard of excellence; Takes calculated risks to accomplish goals.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Performs job duties in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors under the rules and regulations set by the National Credit Union Administration, the State of Florida, and any applicable State laws for financial centers located in other States.
  • Complies with Reg E, BSA, OFAC, and CIP requirements such as reporting suspicious or unusual activity to manager.
  • Fully supports in actions and words First Commerce's Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Service Standards.
  • Attends meetings timely and as required; reports to work as scheduled and adheres to First Commerce's dress code.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills; able to build rapport easily.
  • Ability to think tactically and identify significant success factors.
  • Must be self-directed, efficient, and highly motivated with the flexibility necessary to operate in a growing, team oriented, and fast paced, and high-volume environment. Sharply honed organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of First Commerce Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures a plus.
  • Knowledge of banking operations and regulations a must.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of financial organization experience selling and servicing members/customers, as well as a proven record of sales accomplishments.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of lending experience, including mortgages. Must have complete practice with account structuring, lending policies, and operational procedures.
  • Proven track record of Individual sales results and mentoring peers required.
  • Management/Supervisory experience with proven sales results preferred.
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree and/or credit union courses, such as CCUE, MERIT and STAR Program, preferred.
