NOTICE OF EMPLOYMENT

The Heber Springs Fire Department, located in the beautiful city of Heber Springs on the Greers Ferry Lake and Little Red River, is currently accepting applications for a full-time firefighter.

The job will include, but not all inclusive of performing skilled firefighting work in combating and extinguishing fires, fire prevention, life safety, property conservation and routine custodial maintenance of fire department equipment, apparatus, and stations.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

1. Be a citizen of the United States of America.

2. Be at least eight-teen (18) years of age on the date of hire.

3. Be free of any felony convictions.

4. Be a high school graduate or have passed the General Education Test (GED), indicating high school graduation level.

5. Possess a valid driver’s license.

6. Possess or obtain Firefighter I & II certifications from the Arkansas Fire Training Academy (AFTA) within the first year of employment.

7. Possess or obtain an emergency medical responder (EMR) certification or emergency medical technician (EMT) within the first year of employment.
