Position Summary:
Sony Corporation of America is seeking a full time Flight Attendant. The Flight Attendant advises the Chief Pilot, Scheduling, and Lead Flight Attendants in all matters of flight attendant safety, management, and policy. The Flight Attendant will assist the Trip Captain in the conduct of the assigned flight and shares responsibility for safety of flight relevant to the passengers and cabin of the aircraft. The Flight Attendant will be responsible for ordering all aircraft catering during assigned flights as well as assisting the Lead Flight Attendants with maintaining and ordering cabin stocks, inventories, and passenger special need lists and request items. This individual will assist the Lead Flight Attendants and Scheduling when using contract flight attendants to ensure the highest level of flight safety, customer service, and efficiency is maintained.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities fall into four general categories: operational, administrative, planning and training however additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor or Captain on trips.
Operational:
- Perform duties as assigned by Chief Pilot or Vice President of Aviation.
- Work with the Lead Flight Attendants to maintain consistent procedures.
- Is responsible to the Captain for all assigned inflight duties, adherence to the SOP and proper use of Crew Resource Management procedures.
- Primary inflight responsibility is to assist passengers during aircraft emergencies or other life-threatening conditions.
- Normal inflight responsibility is to provide highest level of customer service to aircraft users and their guests while adhering to appropriate operation manual guidance.
- Facilitate and ensure communication between passengers, crewmembers, and administrators of the Flight Department.
- Administer on site first aid including AED/CPR with the assistance of inflight medical service providers, when necessary.
- Maintain operational knowledge of galley located controls, cabin safety and audio/visual systems and cabin lighting systems for all aircraft flown.
- Ensure the aircraft is stocked, the catering is correct and stowed, and the cabin is in a presentable condition before passengers are boarded.
- Order catering in accordance with trip sheet, Passenger Profile Database, and passenger requests IAW FOM cost containment guidelines as well as serve food to passengers and crew during flight.
- Maintain cabin cleanliness during flight and cabin/equipment clean up after each flight.
- Ensure that aircraft is completely restocked, cleaned, and ready for next flight, including tableware and linen cleaning, after returning to either the TEB or LAX base
Administrative:
- Maintain and hold a valid passport and any required visas as well as current ID Cards required by the Sony FOM.
- Helps to maintain Passenger Profile Database with user specific inflight requirements, requests, and preferences.
- Manage all audiovisual equipment and media (DVDs and CDs) to include assisting Lead Flight Attendants with ordering inventory, and stock.
Planning:
- Assist Scheduling and Lead Flight Attendants with assignments and other crewing considerations when contract flight attendants are required to cover Company trips.
- Assist the Lead Flight Attendants with maintain inflight service plans and the highest standard of customer service through input to the Sony Flight Operations Manual (FOM) and Sony Fixed Wing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Manual.
- Assists the Lead Flight Attendants with the applicable portions of the above manuals to maintain the Contract Flight Attendant Handbook.
- Helps to manage aircraft supply lockers and ensure inventory orders are submitted for approval by the Chief Pilot.
- Participates in the flight attendant effort in attaining Department cost-containment program goals and objectives.
Training:
- Completes all mandatory training by the prescribed deadlines.
- Participates with in-house flight attendant training seminars and departmental flight attendant focus discussions.
- Helps to oversee out-sourced training process with vendors.
Qualifications:
- Related work experience as a corporate flight attendant or flight attendant for a major air carrier.
- Aviation training or management related background desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and thorough working knowledge of food service and passenger relations.
- Possess a current first aid card and is AED/CPR qualified.
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $80,000 to 90,000 This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
