Floater / Teacher Assistant (FT) Job at The Global Child
The
Global Child, LLC is seeking an Assistant Teacher candidate to support our programs in our Norwich, CT location.
The ideal candidate should have an understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices, be nurturing, reliable, flexible, and enjoy spending time with children.
General Responsibility:
The ideal candidate should have an understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices, be nurturing, reliable, flexible, and enjoy spending time with children.
General Responsibility:
- Assist in the implementation of the curriculum for children in a center-based setting.
Responsibilities:
- Be knowledgeable about: Developmentally appropriate practices and the CT Early Learning and Development Standards Planning according to the individual needs of each child.
- Developmental assessments and conducting observations of children daily.
- Encouraging family engagement in the program.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (preferred) or Associate Degree or higher in a related field with coursework in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
Special Qualifications:
- Applicants must be skilled in building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Experience working with young children or in a licensed childcare center is a must.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
