We are currently seeking a hard-working, experienced Forklift Operator for warehouse/integrated manufacturing construction. The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating equipment, such as in a safe and appropriate manner. Equipment may include: warehouse forklifts, motorized pallet jacks, reach forklifts (sky track) and other pieces of equipment. This role is also commonly named: warehouse forklift operator, equipment operator.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow safety regulations. Safe operation of equipment is a must; negligent and/or abusive operation will not be tolerated.
• Promptly report any mechanical or safety problem with the equipment in accordance with company procedures.
• Perform job responsibilities safely under various working conditions.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with other personnel.
• Understand the value of teamwork and communications necessary to operate onsite functions
• May repair and maintain equipment in addition to other duties.
• Perform a daily equipment walk-around inspection and preventive maintenance responsibilities.
• Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
• Clean equipment as scheduled and/or required
• Work mostly indoors but still be subject to extremes of temperature and weather (i.e. warehouse environment)
• Assist in tasks such as moving or staging materials (conduit, electrical/hvac equipment) other tasks related to electrical installation.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant equipment experience with proven safety record.
• Knowledge and experience working with different types and sizes of equipment.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and deadlines.
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization to bring about successful completion of project.
• Must demonstrate ability of being a good team player.
• Experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Job requires working in a warehouse/factory environment.
• Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat and safety glasses at all times) and respirator when required.
• Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required, and night shifts.
• Work on uneven surfaces

PHYSICAL FUNCTION

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
• Must be able to operate motorized/electric equipment
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
• Must be able to make transition from employee parking area into work areas and to gain access to all levels of the building
• Possess good vision (normal or corrected).
• Possess good hearing (normal or corrected).
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions including directions, maps, and instructional manuals.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions
• Be able to work hours necessary to complete tasks and deliverables
